Discover Brazil Through Its Cuisine

Brazilian cuisine is the result of a fascinating mix of different peoples, cultures and traditions. Each region of the country has its own ingredients, dishes and ways of cooking. And during this RioLIVE!, you won’t just taste Brazilian food, you’ll learn how to make it!

As we cook, we’ll discover typical ingredients, learn useful kitchen vocabulary and explore some of the history and culture behind each recipe.

What Are We Going to Make?

1. Moqueca Baiana

Our main dish will be a delicious Moqueca Baiana, one of the most traditional dishes from Bahia. Made with fish, coconut milk, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions and the famous dendê oil (palm oil), moqueca is full of colors, aromas and flavors. During the class, we’ll prepare the dish together while learning a little more about the African influence on Brazilian cuisine and culture.

2. Brigadeiro

After the main course, of course we need dessert! We’ll learn how to make the famous brigadeiro, one of Brazil’s most beloved sweets. Traditionally made with condensed milk, chocolate and butter, brigadeiro can be found at almost every birthday party in Brazil. And be careful: once you learn how to make brigadeiro, it might be difficult to stop making it at home!

3. Lime and Passion Fruit Caipirinhas

To complete our Brazilian culinary experience, we’ll learn how to prepare Brazil’s most famous cocktail: the caipirinha! You’ll learn how to make the traditional lime caipirinha as well as a delicious passion fruit caipirinha. We’ll discover the ingredients, learn how to prepare each version and find out a little more about cachaça, the Brazilian spirit that forms the base of a traditional caipirinha.

Then there’s only one thing left to do: raise your glass and say Saúde!

Practice Portuguese in the Kitchen

At RioLIVE!, we love taking Portuguese outside the classroom, and the kitchen is a great place to learn! During the activity, you’ll practice the names of foods and kitchen utensils, quantities and measurements, as well as essential cooking verbs such as cut, mix, cook, add, stir and taste.

And the best part? You’ll learn by doing, talking and having fun with your classmates and teacher.

Cook, Learn and Taste Brazil!

Food is culture, and few things bring people together like cooking and sharing a meal. At the end, everyone sits down together to enjoy what we’ve prepared — because after all that cooking, it’s time for the best part: eating!

Bom apetite and saúde!

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
